Hello From Nevada
Hello to Parents and Melody!!
I was home on a required visit, to Bathurst, went to my parents place on Sunday and my dad was telling me all about he and mom chatting with a mom of a very special young lady.
So I thought that I would introduce my self and say a big hello to Melody!!
I live in Nevada, my home is 3 hours north of Las Vegas, there is a big difference from where I live, and the city.
From my window , I see beautiful mountains, a nice sunrise in the morning, over the mountain and a very quick sunset in the evening. It is warm where I live, and we actually do have winter, we have snow but not as much as Bathurst and Belledune !!. We do not have beaches, and oceans, because where I live it is called a dry state. So for us , we have a man made place to go swim, almost like atlas Park in Petit rocher, but not as deep , and not as much water.
I work with my husband who is a land surveyor , we do property boundaries for ranches, and for the United States Forestry, this is interesting because we retrace the surveys done in the year of 1800 and re monument. I get to see all types of different things here.. in Nevada we have open range, which means cows, sheep, most farm animals do not have nice barns like here, they are let to roam on desert properties mostly owned by the bureau of land management, but the ranchers go on daily basis and make sure they have water and salt licks, which keeps them hydrated. , there are wild mustangs that run wild, they are not as pretty as what tv says, but they are still animals and wildlife. it is illegal to catch or harm them. On many a time out working , we have seen a mama cow giving birth, the calf usually sticks close to mom .. and I was lucky enough to see a sheep give birth to triplets, now that was an experience I will never forget. we have mountain lions, elk, antalope, buffalo, and mule deer. snakes, spiders and scorpions.
if you go on line , you can key in ELY NEVADA and you will see exactly where I live.
I have an email Mom if you would like to write me, i can send pictures to melody
Davessweetie@hotmail.com
I will be in contact with a local school and let them know that there is a young lady who would like to meet , children, and to find out where they live and what fun they have.
Time to say bye for now.. take care Mom and Melody,, Some one far far away is thinking of you, and will say special prayers for a new found friend
